COURSE OUTLINE – HLT43015 – Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance
Are you working within the Health Care, Hospitals, Aged Care, Community or Disability sector already and would like your formal qualification? Or would you like to change careers and work with people with to support them to achieve their life goals?
There are many opportunities that can be gained through the Cert IV Assistance in Allied Health qualification including but definitely not limited to Rehabilitation Assistant, Lifestyle Office and Physio Aide, Occupational Therapist Assistant, Support Worker, Team Leader and Coordinator Roles.
These roles offer a chance for you to work in a unique role often specialising in Rehabilitation, Nutrition, and Lifestyle. With the current trends in enhancing independence and well-being and consumer choice, there is a greater demand for health workers to assist meet the changing needs of the community.
With the introduction of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and ever growing Aged Care population, it is anticipated the health, aged care, community and disability workforce will need to more than double. South Coast Careers College is offering Accredited Training for new or existing Disability Workers in Ulladulla and Batemans Bay in preparation for the NDIS.
This qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of hospital, rehabilitation, respite, aged care, disability, community settings and clients’ homes, who provide support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and well-being. Workers promote a person-centred approach, work without direct supervision and may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team.
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work placement. Your Work Placement is coordinated by the College. You will also be required to undertake a National Police Check and a Working With Children Check.
