COURSE OUTLINE – Painting with Ochre

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn how to identify natural ochre, charcoal and black wattle amber in the natural environment and share knowledge around the history of ochre and how it has been used by our Indigenous people.

  • Learn how to grind ochre into powder before combining with a medium to form a natural paint.
  • You will be shown techniques which use the paint to produce various effects on paper and in combination with charcoal and pastels.
  • Explore various techniques in applying ochre in different forms as well as in combinations with other paints.
