
Statement of Attainment – Conduct Traffic Control and Implement Traffic Control Plans
Traffic Control is a high-risk occupation and one that requires specific training around awareness and management of live sites. This combination Traffic Control course provides required skills and knowledge for the Traffic Controllers to ensure the safety of traffic controllers, fellow workers, motorists and other road users as well as knowledge and skills to identify risks associated with planning for and implementing traffic control plans.
Target Audience
- For individuals seeking employment in a traffic control role in a live traffic environment
Physical Requirements
Participants should be able to:
- Stand and hold a stop/slow bat for extended periods
- Walk on uneven ground and work safely near traffic
- Lift or carry signs, cones, and equipment (up to approx. 10–15 kg)
- Work in outdoor environments exposed to weather, noise, and dust
- See and hear instructions, signals, and approaching vehicles clearly
- Maintain alertness and concentration in dynamic work zones
