A Sunny Day of Connection and Community at Fisherman’s Paradise!

There’s nothing quite like a beautiful, warm, and sunny day by the water at Fisherman’s Paradise. The gentle breeze, the shimmering water, and the laughter of friendly faces made for the perfect setting to connect with locals and enjoy a day of community spirit.

Our student support officer Maddy had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful locals and dedicated community service workers, all coming together to support and uplift our vibrant community. It was heartwarming to see people engaging, sharing stories, and learning more about the valuable services available to them.

One of the highlights of the day was working at the stall with Phuong Meester, the fantastic Outreach Support Officer from Kiama Community College. It was a great opportunity to catch up in person, exchange insights, and share information about the programs and support available. Plus, who doesn’t love handing out freebies? Seeing people’s smiles as they received little gifts made the experience even more enjoyable!

We also took the opportunity to spread the word about the short courses we can deliver face-to-face for small groups in their own towns. We know that transport can sometimes be a challenge, so we’re eager to bring essential training, like First Aid, directly to those who need it. For those who can travel, our Batemans Bay campus is conveniently located within walking distance from the bus stop and town centre, making access even easier.

And the excitement doesn’t stop there! We’re already looking forward to upcoming community events, including the Community Services Jobs Drive in Moruya on Tuesday, 25 March, from 10 AM to 12 noon at the RSL Memorial Hall (11 Page St, Moruya). If you’re looking to explore opportunities in community services, this is the perfect chance to meet employers, gain insights, and take the next step in your career.

A huge thank you to everyone who made the day at Fisherman’s Paradise so special. We can’t wait to see you at future events and continue supporting our wonderful community!
